Is Coble thinking like a Democrat?
I read the letter from Claiborne M. Clark (Jan. 19) regarding U.S. Rep. Howard Coble's thoughts on the subject of us getting out of Iraq. Many agree with Rep. Coble that we should get out of this dangerous situation.
Clark asks two questions: "But why is a Republican taking the lead on this? What has happened to the Democratic Party?" I wonder if perhaps Clark has considered that Rep. Coble may be a Democrat in Republican disguise.

I don't think this is a "Democrat" or "Republican" idea. I think this is a Congressman who understands the realities of this war. Finally we have a Congressman who has listened to his constituents and understands that he represents them all and not just the ones in his party.

Democrat in disguise? Great disguise. Howard Coble's voting record is chapter and verse in line with the Christian Coalition. He used to make a few mousy comments about fiscal responsibility but, typical Republican, that only applied when the vote was on extending unemployment benefits.

Coble never said we should get out of Iraq. He said that maybe the topic should be on the table for discussion. Big difference.
