Public funds vanish without oversight

If you wanted to renovate your house, would you hire someone whose only qualifications were running a soup kitchen and hot dog stand? And if you did hire them, wouldn't you ask once in a while what they were spending your money on? (Audit.) If your home had no electricity and no heat, would your first priority be to put up a wrought-iron fence?

We continually see our tax dollars awarded to people for mindless, endless projects that don't amount to squat, and we have no idea who got the money. (Audit.) All of these projects should be supervised, not by a yearly report of what the participants say is being accomplished, but by a weekly, or at least monthly, inspection of the project and a full audit of the expenses. Otherwise, we will continue to have substandard projects and thousands of dollars disappearing. (Audit.)

We must insist that anything that is financed with tax dollars must be put under the careful watch of an oversight committee with the authority to veto any expenditures not deemed in the best interest of the taxpaying public. (Audit.) If they cannot justify their expenditures, they should be indicted. (Audit.)

This state is not known for auditing anything they do. The DOT is one of the worst offenders. Our tax dollars are wasted and no one is held accountable. That seems to be the North Carolina way. Until those in power are put out and new, non-political people are put in, it will continue. Skip Alston is a drop in the bucket of no one being held accountable.

Yeah, I am sick of Skip yelling racism too. He needs to be held accountable for what he does just like everybody else in this community. People are put in JAIL for things like STEALING money. As for the DOT comment, yes you are correct. The FBI needs to head to Raleigh and get busy questioning what goes on there too.

You guys are just being racist. Ha ha!

The money wasted on the Civil Rights Museum could have been spent much better helping the poor citizens of Greensboro. I think our city leaders are afraid to challenge Ski Alston becuase he'll call them "racists" and make problems. That's called extortion, and it's the same way Jesse Jackson gets all of his money.
I say the politicians should not stand for Alston or anyone stealing my money without making him account for it.

Lilly said:

Hey BIGMOUTH, nobody is being racist. We are simply saying that accountability is what the city needs. People like Skip Alston who are supposed to be elected by the people and for the people should not have the right to have his hand in the tax payers cookie jar. Skip yells racism. I'm yelling SKIP KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY CHICKEN! ie: tax dollars.
