Air America column leveled a cheap shot
Why did the News & Record print [not posted] an adversarial column on April 24 (Ideas) regarding Air America? In the first place, if you live in the Greensboro area, you can't hear this station unless you subscribe to SIRIUS or you have access to the Internet. Air America's closest station is in Chapel Hill.
Brian C. Anderson denigrated Air America by saying that it only has 53 markets versus Rush Limbaugh's huge market. First of all, Air America is an infant in the radio business, having been started only a year ago. Second, Rush Limbaugh and Bill Bennett as well as many others are broadcast on right-wing radio networks. To allow Anderson to say that the media are dominated by liberals is an out-and-out lie.
I am fortunate to be able to hear Air America on the Sirius network and enjoy hearing the truth which is sadly lacking in right wing broadcasting. Let's encourage the public to listen to Air America and find out what is really happening in this country instead of Limbaugh's drivel.

Al Frankenstein and Air " Hates " America is sinking. Even it's flagship station in NYC, WLIB ( Not kidding , that's it's call letters ) has lower ratings than the the predecessor programing " All Caribbean All The Time ". Crazy George Soros can keep sending funds into this money pit but it's going down. And now Randi Rhodes of AA does a tasteless on air skit suggesting the assassination of President Bush. Your kinda radio eh, Alice ? Get a short wave Alice so you can listen into Fidel Castro's communist propoganda on Cuba's stations. Perhaps this will satisfy your hunger for Marxist drivel. If you can't tune in then I guess Air America or the DNC will have to do.

I agree with Alice's letter. Even though there aren't enough of us left-wing listeners to sustain Air America through any kind of filthily capitalist market dynamic, we must insist that any criticism of it be censored by the mainstream media. I mean, who the hell is Brian C. Anderson that we should have to listen to his opinion? What's the point of the media if they are going to permit "adversarial" arguments? Won't that hurt their ability to brainwash the public to accept our logic?
I have an idea: let's regulate the media so that radio stations have to provide equal time for leftist propaganda, even if no one wants to listen to it. Oh, that's already been proposed? Great.
Alice, I do have one suggestion, though. When you write things like, "To allow Anderson to say that the media are dominated by liberals is an out-and-out lie," watch your syntax. Allowing someone to do something isn't really a lie. Insofar as quashing the adversarial voice of Anderson is concerned, however, I'm on your side.

"enjoy hearing the truth which is sadly lacking in right wing broadcasting"
I'm amazed you can even find right-wing broadcasting. Turn on any major network and you should be able to find coverage that appeals to the left-wing side of your shredded wheat. Who needs Air America for that?
