Kindness of strangers left indelible memory
At an accident site recently at Holden Road and Friendly Avenue, I was blessed to meet a group of extraordinary people. The two young female drivers met and embraced each other -- more concerned with the safety of the other than their vehicles. A neighbor, Aaron Skiles (a Guilford College student), brought water and helped direct traffic. Another young man, Chris Nunez (a Grimsley High School student), stopped to help comfort and direct traffic in the other direction. Still another young man, Gary Hatcher (a Lowe's employee), worked an hour or more. Jean Lappen, a visiting Washington state resident, stayed with one of the drivers, calmly helping her find all the necessary items for the police. The father of the younger driver was as calm and reassuring as possible, making sure that everyone was doing all right -- not just his daughter.
Too often, most of us fail to take time from our busy lives to offer our time and support to others. What a beautiful lesson that day to watch these total strangers sharing and helping each other.
They are part of what makes Greensboro a great place to live.

Yeah, I'm sure it was a beautiful thing to see.
Just wait until the personal injury attorneys get involved. LOL!

Lilly,
Get a job or something. Your comments are not needed on every thread at every blog.
This was a very touching letter. I'm happy to hear that there are positive people around and your pessimistic attitude is not needed.
I commend all those involved at the scene of the accident. Especially those young students from Grimsley and Guilford College. They are wonderful examples to their peers. Hopefully, they will grow up and continue to teach others to be caring individuals. I would only hope and pray that compassionate individuals like these, would be at the scene of (God forbid) any accident of one of my children.
Lilly, you can just keep driving by please.
Take a lesson from this Lilly.

Queen Helene,
The dynamics of your comment bare you naked. Your soccer-mommish neuro-linguistic muffin baking blather was a slam to my friend.
Lilly for Mayor!

"your pessimistic attitude is not needed."
Hmmmm. Let's see. Lilly writes a letter saying that something was beautiful and then makes a joke about personal injury lawyers. Yeah, that really makes her a pessimists.
Helen, you obviously have not read many of Lilly's post. She's the most upbeat thing this forum has going for it.
Your attack was a lot more vicious than Lilly's comments deserved.

Steve and Another Bigmouth, Got room on that bandwagon for me? Both of you are right. Lilly does not deserve such unwarrented accusations and harsh comments. Although she's a might fiesty at times she is a good person with an outstanding sense of humor. And she is a realist.
While you may have construed Lilly's realism as pessimistic, Helen, I can assure you it was not meant that way. Perhaps you should take the time to "get to know" some of the regular posters before casting a negative light on their character.

No, no she didn't. ohmygawd. Uh-uh. Helen, miss thang, you best be steppin off my girl Lilly. What I wants to know is did Judy Glasgow get permission to put all them peoples names in her letter like that. I mean, don't you think it's kinda strange that while everyone else is walking around trying to help people, little miss Glasgow is taking names? I sure hope Mr. Hatcher won't on the clock cause he's probably out of a job if he was.
