An unnecessary war bestows great guilt
I have been reading David McCullough's biography of John Adams and was much struck by the quotation from our second president that serves as an epigraph to Chapter Ten: "Great is the guilt of an unnecessary war."

Tom, Have you noticed that since we have taken the fight to the terrorists there hasn't been another attack on American soil?
Quite a necessary war, me thinks.

Necessary war? What war could be more UNnecessary?
We are creating a new breed of American hating terrorists that weren't there before we went to war. So using your logic, when there is another attack here in America, then you will see this war as unjustified?

Mr. Harper, crawl back in your protected shell after you get down on your knees and thank God for a president and a military that protects your sniveling backside.

Mac,
I think you are creating a cause and effect where probably none exists (I'll let history decide).
You are giving GWB full credit for the lull on attacks on American soil for the last 3 1/2 years. To what do you attibute the nearly 8 year lull during the Clinton administration.
