Pleasant Garden acts like more than it is
At the last second in the budgeting process, we watched as the mayor of Pleasant Garden pulled out of the thin air recommendations for excess tax revenue "to give the citizens the sense of being a town." Since none of the mayor's ideas are line-item entries in the budget, we taxpayers are at the mercy of elected officials who gaze into crystal balls.
Pleasant Garden remains a town on paper with a bloated budget, but now it has a five-cent tax, its own "pork barrel" and a motto "To Seem Rather Than To Be."
Help. Help. Help.

They could move yes.
Does Pleasant Garden have a town council? Do they hold meetings? Are there enough people who feel like the writers to attend and let their voices be heard?
That to me, would be more fun. Show up at a town meeting and express yourself. Hopefully others will be behind the movement.
Pleasant Garden always sounded like and really is, such a neat little place. I hope it can be saved from the evil politicians. :)

Lilly: Thanks for your comment. That's exactly how I got involved in P.G. politicsI. My family roots in Pleasant Garden go back to the 1800s. You speak out & ask questions @ the Town Council meetings & you obtain no answers, even though it's public information.I have filed to run for P.G. Town Council with election this Nov. & hope enough folks get out, vote,& help me straighten out this mess! The residents & property owners in the town deserve much better than we have gotten the last 8 years since incorporation in 1997.Anne
