Newspaper keeps good news hidden
You know, when I wrote this "good news is no news" letter, I had a hunch that it would not be printed, because it is true. I, and the majority of your readers, would prefer hearing good news. So put the bad news, if you must, in fine print in the middle of the paper, where you are now hiding the good news.
If you were known as a paper that printed the good stuff, I firmly believe that your circulation would increase, rather than decrease, as I suspect is happening now.

so let me get this right, tommy. you want to view the world through rose-colored glasses and see only good news, right? it's unfortunate that the world isn't like that. and, even though i only read the news-record on the internet, i see plenty of good news in it. perhaps you are objecting to truthful news regarding things like our iraq adventure and corruption in the current government. those things won't go away. as far as the good news, i recently read articles about an american hero, Rosa Parks, in the paper. i enjoy the photos of the week showing good things happening in greensboro. i guess i could go on and on listing the good things i read in the paper but that's not the things you see in the paper. maybe you should be like the president and just refuse to read newspapers.

Here's a craaaaaazy idea Mr. Cox. Why not just turn to the middle of the paper and start reading the good news first?
