Wow. Godwin's Law in action!

Yes, an extreme case. Godwin's law states that, as a discussion thread grows longer, the probability that some comparison with Hitler or Nazism will be made. This thread never got off the ground before the event occurred.
So this incident, at the extreme end of the spectrum, is to Godwin's law what quantum theory is to classical mechanics. I look forward to the Grand Discussion Unified Theory that will pull these together.
Further, an informal corollary of the law says the person first doing the comparison loses the argument. I think this is confirmed.
