Citizens tell government what rights they retain
In his letter to the editor (July 31), John W. Taylor mentioned that the Bill of Rights was given to the citizens by the government. I always thought that the citizens had given the government its rights and that the Bill of Rights enumerated rights that the citizens had reserved for themselves.
In either case, we need to keep the government from taking those enumerated rights away from us.

Unfortunately we're getting a late start on some of them, Richard. Some of our rights have been upsurped by this administration already.

The current administration has thrown the constitution out the window and replaced it with arrogance. Illegal wiretaps, torture prisons, corruption within the White House and VP's office, Tom DeLay etc, make a mockery of our nation of laws.
"Will someone go ahead and give the Prez a blow job so we can impeach him"--bumper sticker seen on I-79 this past week.

Nice alternate reality, Deke and Yyvonne. Too bad none of it is true.

Boy! You sure showed them with your fact-filled and intelligent reply! The logic, it's waaaay over their widdle heads!

Denz,
Your bias is showing. If you look at the first two responses and the letter to the editor, none of them document their accusations in a fact-filled and intelligent manner.
While is is true Bubba didn't do much to prove they were wrong, I can't see much difference between those letters.
Not that I care. I have no problem with folks venting their opinions. This isn't a job where we get paid to provide documentation for every statement. It's an enjoyable distraction for me.

Bubba's back up is getting to be like Mr. Produce's posts: Opinion stated as fact.
Reality, is enough back up for the posts by THE Demon Deacon and by Yvonne--of course, I could fill up the page with actual newspaper accounts...oh, forgot! That's the "lamestream" media's accounts. Darn.
