Please do not forget the case of April Jones
I am the mother of a young adult who was murdered in Greensboro in 2001 on her baby son's birthday. Her name was April Jones.
Although she lived on the streets in your fair city, she was on her way back home to her family when she was so brutally murdered. It is still quite hard for us to deal with, since her son's birthday is a constant reminder of when and how she died.
I would hope she has not been forgotten by your city. She hasn't been forgotten by her family. Her oldest son still is having a very hard time dealing with this.
Is there any way that I could contact someone to find out what is going on with this case, or has it been dropped and forgotten because she was not one of your more prominent citizens?
She did have a family and children who loved her very much.

My heart goes out to you; I agree that pressure may need to be put on the police department(?) or whatever agency should be handling this.
I'm new to this but maybe legal aid may be a resource.
Your may also write a letter to the editor to see if some kind of a feature story could be made to get someone to financially help you obtain the services of a lawyer, if legal aid can't help.
A letter to your congressman/woman might be helpful as well. Good Luck and God Bless
Not being prominent should not matter, you should get the services needed. Prominent people have the money to purchase the services of lots of attorneys which also should not interfere with your getting the services you need.

Seems to be more the rule then the exception around here, that you hear more about the crime you do about the punishment. Right about the time of the Lacy Peterson murder we had a similar one here, and we heard more about Lacy then we did one of our own, and that is sad. Something should be done, and having to pay a lawyer shouldn't be one of them.
You should have a detective assigned to the case that should be your point man (or woman) when it comes to any updates. (Dont hold your breath though)
Greensboro doesn't like touting it's unsolved cases!
