Albright's record reflects experience, excellence
We are writing to urge voters to support Stuart Albright for Superior Court judge. Stuart has a long and honorable history of public service and has proven himself through his past experience as a private practice attorney, Guilford County district attorney and Superior Court judge.
He is the only candidate who has direct courtroom experience in virtually every relevant area of the court. In addition, Stuart is committed to serving our community and does so with excellence and integrity. His accomplishments are many and include holding court in eight counties, reducing the District Court logjam, starting an environmental court, and increasing the number of convictions in Guilford County courtrooms.
Greensboro is fortunate to have a judge of Stuart's experience and expertise, as well as his boundless energy. We are proud to be supporters of Stuart and urge voters to join us in supporting him on Nov. 7.

As I said yesterday, electing Albright - whatever his merits may be - would entail removing Judge Bray, and since in my opinion she and Judge Jarrell are the best on the local bench I would find that result to be totally unacceptable.
My divorce and resulting property settlement were both long and protracted ordeals, and from it I got a very detailed look into the workings of the local judiciary. Although Judge Bray never ruled on any part of our case I still had the opportunity to sit in on several sessions over which she presided and found myself highly impressed with both her judicial manner and legal insight.
A loss for her would be a loss for the citizens of Guilford County.

jh,
Your fondness of Bray is noted. To be honest, I have no idea which candidate I will support. None of these letters of recommendation give any indication on where these judges stand on major issues.

Nit,
You are not supposed to know how they stand on issues because it is not important to being FAIR. Hence the title "Judge".
I do not think there is a loser in this race as far as being fair, but I do think that Judge Bray has a long track record, something Albright does not. Albright does have name recognition, due to his family, but that does not translate into being a great judge.
Bray is a great judge and a warm, caring person. She received an excellent education at the greatest institution of higher learning in the known world! (Okay, that's over the top, but I had to do it)

That's an interesting take on it. It appeared to me that there was MUCH interest in how judges ruled in prior cases when the last two Supreme Court justices were picked.
I think it is helpful to know how judges have ruled on prior cases to get an idea how they stand and might rule in future cases.

Nit,
I don't think anyone looked into how a judge ruled on say, a child custody matter or a contested divorce. At least not when it came to a federal appointment. This is a local situation, not a federal one.

Exactly, Demon. I'm not interested in how Bray and Albright ruled on Roe v Wade. I am interested in how they ruled on issues that would affect us locally so I could understand how they might rule on future issues that might affect me personally.
Any project homesteads in their closets?

Having had the opportunity to work with both Albright and Bray in Guilford Cty criminal court, let me offer the following.
Albright was a fine DA. He is a good person whose experience is certainly meritous and makes him worthy of consideration. I have a lot of respect for him. But...
My vote will go with Bray. She is fair and efficient on the bench. She knows the law and applies is fairly, regardless of the attorney representing the defendant; she is not swayed by a defendant's invokation of the words "Jesus" or "church," nor does she automatically discount testimony given by someone who may not fit the mold of the ideal witness. Her regard for the truth is remarkable, her attention to her duty as a servant of the citizenry is without impugnity. (Please note that I am NOT implying that Stuart Albright would engage in any of the aforementioned though there are people currently on the bench in GC that do.)
When I worked with Mr. Albright he was the DA so I have not seen him on the bench and cannot speak to his record on the bench. Bray has a history I can speak to, though, and she stands head and shoulders above many of her peers. Of the judiciary in Guilford Cty there are a few whose judgment in matters big and small is absolutely questionable and they should by no means even be allowed to wear the robe (maybe a bathrobe). Were it not for judges like Bray, what a sorry state we would be in.
So do your homework on the candidates, but might I strongly urge you to consider giving your vote to Judge Bray....she has earned it.

Amen on on that JEC! I have known Judge Bray for about 25 years, and I can say she is everything you mentioned above. We are fortunate to have someone of her caliber, willing to even be a district court judge. Let's do the right thing and reward her with elevation to Superior Court.
