President should listen to some wise sayings
The solutions for several of your most recent Cryptoquotes deserve a reprint. In my opinion, George W. Bush would be wise to heed their messages.
• "One of the best ways to persuade others is with your ears — by listening to them" — Dean Rusk.
• "It's a good rule to follow the first rule of holes: If you are in one, stop digging" — Denis Healy.
• "Don't throw stones at your neighbors if your own windows are of glass" — Benjamin Franklin.
• "If at first you don't succeed, you may be at your level of incompetence already" — Laurence Peter.
• "Managing success is a tough job. There's a very fine line between self-confidence and arrogance" — Jack Welch.

Listen? This President listen?
Compare great Presidents to this one and you will find a broad chasm exists in "listening" skills. Lincoln put his political enemies in his cabinet and "LISTENED" to all sides. In the end, he gained the respect of most all of them.
Bush, apparently afraid to surround himself with those whose thinking is contrary to his own, is a ship, listing at sea. So if you want the President to listen to good advice from great people, then keep waiting for the tooth fairy to retrieve your teeth.

JDR,
Where's your old buddy Mr. Produce these days?
It has been nice since he folded the tent on his offbeat military projections and his "super sleuthing". Only one problem. He fed Hugh all of his INTEL on Afghanistan, and now he's left Hugh with nowhere to turn since the old "swatting at a gnat" thesis on Afghanistan.
