The public has a right to hear from city leaders

Are we searching for a chief of police to replace Chief David Wray? Is Interim Chief Bellamy being made the permanent chief by default?

Come on, city leaders. Let us know what is happening to the mess you got us in.

I agree Mr. Powell, and further I hope we don't end up bringing in another outside "wonder boy" as a cure all for the problems we face as a community.

There are officers currently within the GPD that would make excellent leaders if only they were given the proper support of the powers that be.

As soon as GSO leaders get another mess going, they will inform the public on the previous mess. Do not fret, they are capable!

Whatever they do, they had better make sure that if it isn't Bellamy, then it better be a black person. To look at any other candidate would be racist. ;)

Just saw where the Mayor is going to give an address on this subject.

Sarcasm aside, I do believe nitpicker's statement has some merit. The ousting of former Chief Wray wasn't simply a race issue, however black and white it may seem (pun intended). There is some obvious corruption in our Police department.

Anytime corruption exists, and an upstanding citizen like David Wray tries to make the necessary changes, those who are the source of the corruption will fight it tooth and nail. It just so happens that the individuals who decided to fight against Wray, played the race card.

Wray is one of the finest individuals I have ever known, and it is a tragedy that he was treated so poorly.
