Yep, them dumb republicans only vote for corrupt politicians cause of abortion or gay marriage or some other stupid social thing. Democrats, on the other hand, are 100% informed, always taking into account all aspects of the political landscape before pulling that lever.

I think JDR hit the nail square on the head. We've suffered too much at the hands of the ones who claim they are "pro life" and ignore every other issue because they cannot separate emotion from reason.

Yea, he is the future - his voice should be heard - but he is young, idealistic, just out of college and a bit clueless - so let him suggest, inform, invent, and create - and take him up on those 10:1 odds for disarming Iran in 30 days - heck I'll go 100:1 on doing anything except 30 days of talk about Iran.

nitpicker, most of the Republicans I know who supported and still support Bush are in fact fanatical "Christians" with an agenda a mile wide. Who do you think the few who still approve of the moron are? Many are led by ignorant ministers; many are led by predjudices; not one is a truly thinking person.

I am unafiliated. I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I am an intelligent, well educated, thinking person. I can tell you all that is wrong with our war and our leaders. I can back up my beliefs with facts. Can any of the Bush supporters do this? No they cannot.

Terms like 'fanatical' just seems a way to demonize those you disagree with. There are those who hold strong beliefs on issues on both sides of the aisle. There are many Christians who vote democrat as well as republican. Their reasons are as varied as the individual.

You may not consider yourself Republican or Democrat. I don't either. I consider myself an individual who considers each candidate's merit and a variety of issues before voting. I wouldn't go as far as calling myself 'unaffiliated'. As soon as I pull that lever, I'm affiliated with someone. It's a big responsibility. Most people who actually take the time to vote don't take it lightly.

FANATICAL CHRISTIANS: Ted Haggard, Jerry Falwell, Fred Phelps, Pat Robertson, and those who are driven into the voting booth by the likes of the above, on emotional wedge issues of Gay marriage, Guns, and God (prayer etc).

Now Nit, where do the Democrats fit into the above? NOWHERE! Hence the term, "Fanatical Christian". I passed College Park Baptist yesterday and they have a huge banner out front proclaiming they are an "AMERICAN" Baptist---so I guess they don't want to be remotely aligned with the SBC or the "fanatical Christians".

DD, I would dare say that due to the vote of NC Baptists in November that College Park either withdrew or was disfellowshiped from the SBC. Just my take on the issue.

I used the terms "religious" and "faithful/deeply faithful" in another blog earlier today. Basically having the same meaning as "fanatical" yet termed more moderately. Religions and religious people are a detriment to ANY Faith!
