Britney Spears steps up to replace Anna Nicole
Just when it looked as if Anna Nicole had run away with it, Britney stepped up to the plate and hit one out of the park.
First the head shave and the tattoo, then the double entry into rehab. What a pro.
Seriously, I want to thank the News & Record for the extremely limited coverage given to these very sad young women. I congratulate you on your restraint.

Dan,
You are so right on the money here!
Larry King, Nancy Grace and the entire daytime crew at the Fox Noise Channel won't know what to do once Anna Nicole is buried!
I'm feeling like a genius today, as I fertilized my yard yesterday and my rain guage shows we got over an inch of rain last night! Flip side, is that my yard will be needing a Bush Hog within ten days! Oh, well. I'll reap what I sow.

Another thing we probably agree on in addition to avoiding shopping malls: celebrities.
I could give a rats arse about celebs and what they do. I've never read a copy of People magazine much less all those tabloids at the grocery store.
I was disappointed with FNC for it's overkill coverage of Anna Nichole. Apparently it's what sells. I just turn on a ball game or Natl Geo channel.

Dan and DD,
Don't know why but I skimmed over an article about Smith's funeral. It limits guests to 300 friends and family and one Entertainment Tonight crew. How classy is that?

Dan,
Did you catch the NG channel's story last night on Mega Structures? It was the Palm Island in Dubai. Absolutely fascinating. Conspicuous show of wealth in a poverty stricken region, but fascinating nonetheless.
Nit,
Sad part is, Anna Nicole probably didn't have 300 people one could actually call "friends". Shep Smith will probably be reporting from the Bahamas tonight.

DD, after Jeopardy I watched the VA-VA Tech game and then I watched UNC not even show up at GA Tech.
I do watch Mega Structures and really like Modern Marvels too.
Hate to be with you on bashing FNC, but I'm sick of them covering this Anna Nichole and similar BS stories. Greta used to be the primary person who covered this celebrity BS, now the rest of them are doing it too.
I'm sure they do it because it pulls ratings, other networks do the same thing. Just like Anna Nichole's body, our society continues to rot from within.
When someone can tell you who has won American Idol or Survivor for the last 4 years but doesn't know the 3 branches of American government...it's really pathetic.
Hannity on radio does a "man on the street" clip where they randomly interview younger people right off the streets of NYC. He asked one guy about the 3 branches of govt. and the guy replied "Republican, Democratic and Independent". Truly sad.

Dan,
It is a shame, but it has lined the pockets of tabloid media stars--Larry King, Nancy Grace, Bill O'Reilly, and Joe Scarborough.
Hope you get to see the Palm Island show if it airs again soon. It is truly phenomenal. Google Palm Islands Dubai and you will be amazed at the pictures.
