Dianne Bellamy-Small's disgrace to Greensboro

As one who was born, raised, educated and married in Greensboro, it shames and repulses me that one such as T. Dianne Bellamy-Small represents my hometown. She is a disgrace to the district she represents.

I am not surprised, however, that there are those serving on the City Council who are afraid to confront Bellamy-Small for her behavior. Let's pass the buck to the voters.

According to Mayor Holliday, to call for Bellamy-Small's resignation is something "we just don't have time to deal with ... and I think it's counterproductive."

Really? Dealing with a troublemaker and blot on the city's name and reputation is considered counterproductive? (I guess that is why the mayor failed to deal with Bellamy-Small when the leaking of a confidential police report was traced to her office.)

It's amazing that after being stopped by a Greensboro police officer (during which she attempts to intimidate him with her "council power"), she later states she had no issues with his manner. A week later, when it becomes apparent that she was the one with the "attitude," she suddenly decides to file a complaint saying he was "rude."

To Councilwoman Florence Gatten: Thank you for stepping up to the plate and facing this challenge with your call for Bellamy-Small to step down.

THANK YOU, Keivin Smith, B. L. Woltz and Shirley J. Wright, for residing in Greensboro. It emancipates DemonDeacon and me to turn our attention to other topics and/or activities.

Have a pleasant weekend, DD.

Thank you for your introduction there Jack, and welcome aboard!
Mr. or Mrs. or Ms. Woltz,
Most fair minded adults here agree with your letter. Trouble is now, what do we do? DBS is a stubborn individual whose 15 minutes of fame was up several months back. As many have pointed out, she does, in fact, represent the people of her district. As unfortunate as that seems, just think of those poor ol' blokes who are the mirror image of her ignorance and obstinance. Kind of reminds me of district five County Commissioners we've had over the years---whew! Robert Moores, that toupee'd darling whose rug looked as if it had chinstraps, represented the district with rants and attacks on the opposing party, mainly the leaders. The GOP did censure him, but it didn't stop his bizarre behavior. So, now who represents district 5? None other than Billy Yow. So you see, there is the connundrum. These folks are the ones chosen by the majority of their district. Sad, but true.

Florence Gatten turned Dianne Bellamy-Small into a martyr.

B-S was drowning and Gatten, in her ill-advised and foolish attempt to shove her completely under the water, has instead thrown her a lifeline.

Now, B-S can giddily shift the focus away from her own insipid behavior and put it squarely and demonstratively on her "persecution".

In one exceedingly dumb move by Gatten, Dianne Bellamy-Small has gone from a liability to her constituency to that most holy of holies: a victim.

Sadly, Pragmatist, you are exactly right. Truly a pity.

Councilwoman Bellamy-Small couldn't have wished for a better scenario: A nice, slow softball pitched right over the middle of the plate.

"Bottom of the ninth, two outs, two strikes, the District Ones down by three with the bases loaded, and TDBS at the plate ... "

SMACK! That ball's outta here, folks!!
