For all of your support and prayers, thank you
Our lost son has been returned to us. The list of people that we have to thank for the happy end to his story is enormous.
Folks from Greensboro and the surrounding area were a major part of the effort, from the Kernersville-based bloodhounds and their handlers that were first on the scene, to the Guilford County Sheriff's Office EMT who checked our son just after he was found.
The administrators and teachers within our school system focused not just on help for our two children, but on support for others who were worried by the unfolding events.
Our faith community and church sustained us by their prayers and, in many cases, their presence.
The people we work with in our Smith Moore family, our other colleagues in the legal community and many others were constant in their efforts. The number of dear friends, and friends we have not yet met, who volunteered to search or support the search efforts was awe-inspiring.
It is a testament to a remarkable region and a great place to raise a family. Thanks to all.
Please share in our joy.

Kent,
You and Debbie handled yourselves in a very remarkable manner. Because of this, I know all of your family learned a valuable lesson. Rejecting the news shows and the tabloids was a great choice.
Oh, and thanks for NOT letting Bush turn your son's tragedy into another photo op. It forced him to finally visit Walter Reed for a photo op, which may in turn be better for our troops.
Don't take the yellow ribbons down just yet. Let them stay as a reminder of community. Our community.
Thanks for being a good example for how to handle an underaged tragedy.

Ya know, to be able key off of a letter of thanks from Mr. Auberry and Ms. Hayes, congratulating them on their handling of the situation regarding their lost son, then effortlessly segueing into an acrimonious, hate-filled ripping of the President is quite a feat, DemonDeacon.
Living in "our community" with such a bitter, censorious and acerbic ogre is something that Mr. Auberry and Ms. Hayes might want to reconsider.

Jack, it's call Bush Derangement Syndrome. People like DD and similar ilk are so obsessed with Bush that ANY subject can somehow, no matter how remote, no matter how far fetched, be linked to Bush.
This is, honest to God, the first time I thought of Bush today. 'Twas the same with Clinton, I didn't think about the guy all day long during his term. But when my dog died during Clinton's presidency I didn't attribute blame to the former prez, he can sleep well.

Dan,
Glad neo found you. He hasn't had a friend on this blog since "Bobby". LOL!
The "Lost Boy Scout's" parents are the polar opposites of you, Dan. That is why I put what I did in the thread about Bush. Being a Magna cum laud graduate and editor of the law review at UNC-Chapel Hill is not something you OR neocon could appreciate. But you are good for a laugh!

Dan says, "'Twas the same with Clinton, I didn't think about the guy all day long during his term."
and I am STILL laughing my arse off at that one!!! Dan, you have a short memory my friend. Might want to get that thing checked out.
You defended EVERYTHING Bush did up until you couldn't stomach being the ONLY one to do so....well the only one other than neoocn and a few high school dropouts!
Water seeks its level, and you've found your soulmate in neocon. You guys have the same outlook on life, and you both love to build strawmen. Here's to a great and long relationship for you and your new found friend! ;)

Spin it any way you want DD, your name change doesn't improve your weak attempts to prove your mettle.
Anyone who can take an LTE from the parents of a missing Greensboro, NC Boy Scout and spin Bush into the subject.....well....read Jack's post again. He describes it quite aptly.
Just curious, why the name change? I for one will always refer to you as DD. TLC means something entirely different and I've never seen any of that from you.

I think the Presidential debate on this is appropriate. After all, he got lost in the Bush, and wasn't sent a Bill. He should be sent to the Baracks, begin Biden his time and perhaps even (Mc)Cained. There's a John in there and a CDROMney of Rudy, which isn't a Newt movie, but can be Hillaryous.
Perhaps a President has been set with this case, after all.

Don't ever let ANYONE find out who you really are, Pragmatist. Could get really ugly after that post!

Prag, I'll have two of whatever you are drinking, smoking, or popping. Great post!!

" ... and thanks for NOT letting Bush turn your son's tragedy into another photo op."
This sentence has true ump if and only if the parents really did turn down a photo op. If they did not, then it is the claimed BDS.
Which is it - anyone know?
Jack - this is probably NOT one of those gray areas .. just so ya know.

btw -- Kent Auberry and Debbie Hayes ??
Is this one of those new-age marriages, or darker than that?

Did a bit of checking, Dan. I have it on good authority that there's absolutely no truth to the rampant rumor that a certain Triad area university threatened to file suit against DemonDeacon for bringing shame, humiliation and embarrassment to the institution by way of his postings on this site.
No, 'tseems that many of his colleagues "across the pond" and in the cooler climes where the Maple Leaf flies were confused by the name. So, floundering about for something less ambiguous, he came up with "THE LIBERAL CONSERVATIVE." Oxymoronic, you say? Well, yes, but the fine folks off of Reynolda Road are breathing a deep sigh of relief, nonetheless.

Jack, ya think WFU may come after me for continuing to refer to him as Demon Deacon? OK, go for the name change, but it's like a goat: you can put anything combination you want into the front end but you still get exactly the same result on the back end.
BTW, Canada is no longer cooler climes due to global warming. They are growing palm trees in Labrador.
