Coble's office must be averse to e-mail, too

Regarding "Congressional mailings run $1 million" (June 5):

The Associated Press reported no bulk mail spending by Rep. Howard Coble. But, he did mail me several boilerplate nonresponses to e-mails I'd sent him on such things as support for the arts, public radio, sex education and other issues he does not want to deal with.

Coble or his staff could have responded to my e-mails with an e-mail back to me, but it's certainly easier to slip a form letter into the mail -- and at our expense, too.

If it makes you feel in better, I have written letters to Burr, Easley, and Miller, no response.
I have read this same letter about 20 times in the NR. I have never seen one about the democrats.
Me I think both parties suck. And I have damn well let them know it, about this crappy immigration bill. You know what, they could care less what we think. Like I told a Burr staff person, yesterday, I bet it will repsond, when he is up for election.

While I am unaware of Rep. Watt's mailing cost; I do know that he/his office stayed in contact with me at least quarterly on an issue to which I had contacted his office. I did not receive a form letter. Rather, I received a letter giving me the status of the issue.

So, I can vouch for the way Rep. Mel Watt handles things.

Mark,
I love your letters, and I've always agreed with your views. This was no exception.
The work you do for UNCG's art museum is great!

Darryl,

Had the same experience. Watt is responsive.

Nit,
Guess the "conservative" congressmen want to conserve their own energy, thus no constituent services. After all, Watt is a Democrat and Coble the Republican. Coble has reached his "Sell By" date and should be retired. He lost my vote when he paraded around like a Banty rooster at the Clinton Impeachment hearings. Wonder if he's now defending Libby's perjury conviction?
