Old House dangerous, should be torn down

This piece of property is located at 8400 West Harrell Road, Oak Ridge. This old house is not only an eyesore and degrading to the community where it stands, but it also has delinquent property taxes of about 15 years. Winds from past storms have torn off pieces of the roof and porch. The loose tin, boards, bricks, etc. are just waiting to become dangerous projectiles during future storms.
This house should be condemned, torn down and hauled away. The house is not safe for my family and property because of the possibility of flying debris damaging someone or something. We have called the health department and the tax department. The land was supposed to be foreclosed on several years ago, and nothing has been done. We have kept the yard mowed and debris picked up for about 15 years and would like to own the land.
Your investigation into this property and any advice on what could be done about it for the safety of the surrounding community would be greatly appreciated.

Mr. Nuckles,
It's okay to uncover the idiocy of his views on this blog, but when you start putting a picture of neo's house in the paper, advocating for its destruction, well then, you've gone OVER the line!

Nice fixerupper. A dab of paint here and there. Nice cool place behind those steps for ol Jake to lay...

Mr. Nuckles, if owning the property is desired; contact the owner and make an offer. Why ask the N & R to do something that is very simiple, plain & easy?
Shalom

Got a nice painted tractor tire around back with a flower bed too.
The old lady is on me about the roof, but I'm quick to point out that she is constantly complaining about how hot it is in there with the wood cookstove going and all, but it will only get worse if I throw a tarp over the roof.
Damned if you do and damned if you don't...

lol...good ones, yawl. I agree that buying the property sounds like a good idea. Also wonder who Jason thinks should pay to remove the house.

I, for one, love driving out in the country and seeing old abandoned houses. I think they are cool looking and a reminder of days gone by.
I find it hard to imagine a piece of the roof travelling long distances and sticking Jason in the eye.
Since this is not their property, they have no business mowing the grass on it nor any rights to it.
If they hate the house that much, they should have let the area grown wild and within a year or two, you wouldn't even be able to see the house anymore.

One last question. Who do you think was their first, the run-down house or this guy?

Nice T-Shirt too.

Dan,
Now we know. :)

Instead of mowing the grass, use the gasoline for the mower and a match to eliminate your problem.

Wow, this guy screwed up. Now, John Hammer will be out there trying to preserve the place.

THE LIBERAL CANADIAN, I'll hand it to you, you've got the yard looking great!

You have to also admit Neo, Demon Deacon also keeps his roof in fine repair. One has to however, the winters up there are brutal.
The trim work could use a little paint.

Danny,
You are so original.

Glad you like it Demon Deacon. Might I add that's a very patriotic gaze and stance towards the flag.

I like skylights too Neo!

Rufus,
We WERE having a pretty funny conversation until "Look at me" Dan came in to throw his redundant drivel out. Even neo was pretty amusing--much better wit than Danny's too.
Skylights and 'security' doors are big selling points!

Awwwwwwwwwww, poor Demon Deacon. I'll cry for you just like I did for Paris Hilton crying for her mommy when she went back to jail. You started with a joke towards Neo, he took it in good stride. I added a joke and all the sudden the fun is all over only because the joke was directed towards you. Why don't you be a man like Neo and take it in stride? Either lighten up or go cry boo hoo to your mommy.
BTW, it took me a long time to find that photo, you should be more appreciative.

Gee Danny Boy, Why'd ja have to come along and rain on THE LIBERAL CANADIAN's parade?
Where did you find that pic...an old WF yearbook?...
Or near a tourist trap in Paris?
Must be totally committed to Canada to fly a flag from the outhouse. :]

Sorry Kitty, I didn't mean to offend someone. I couldn't sleep a wink last night, kept worrying about Demon Deacon crying with his mommy.
I got that pic from a trip to the Motherland, Canada.
