Apology missed mark

I was quite amused with Michael Nifong's apology and statement, "We all need to heal, and I hope we can learn from the mistakes in this case and move forward."

Mr. Nifong, it is not that easy. We have good memories of the selfish way you handled this case and what you did to these three boys and their families. There were those who used the "hooligan" description. We have waited weeks to see if they would apologize.

But it's too little, too late.

Don't expect Nifong to admit he was up for re-election, needed the black vote, and hanging a few white guys out to dry for 'raping' a black woman fit the bill nicely. I always wonder if he would have pursued this case as strongly had an election not factored. Bad timing for the lacrosse players.

Sallie, ever heard of forgiveness? Healing happens when people forgive.

I continually heard people desiring Nifong offer an apology. Now that has happened and people did not like the way he apologized. What more do people want? The cry was for an apology, it was given!

As Nifong noted, "...move forward."

The longer people keep "beating this dead horse," the longer the stench will linger.

I say let it go and move forward, punishment has been exacted and it appears that the three people charged are moving on with their lives, why can others not do the same?

Mike Nifong is not the first lawyer to hit the dust for corruption. He did give the process a new name. From now on, the process will be called "getting Nifonged".

Funny things about most of the lawyers. They loose the concept of honor, truth and intregty. It's all about winning, winning and then winning. Somewhere in the process, the truth is ignored.

I'm involved in a small civil district court case in Rockingham County. I'm the Plaintiff in the case and I filed the case Pro Se. I'm representing myself. Not the smartest thing to do, but I could not afford my family's attorney's fee on this matter. There's very little money involved in any settlement. The defendant hired an attorney. That's fine. I expected that an attorney could get involved. The answer to the complaint had nothing but denials. If it didn't happen, there would be no case...but that's what attorneys do. Who did the defendant hire as an attorney? My family attorney! Can you believe that? This guy has taken money from me to represent my family needs in the past couple of years. I could not afford his fee for this small case. So, this "Little Nifong" takes my opponent's money to represent their interest?? But, then I remembered, dad gum he's an attorney. He's making money. Integrity, honor, standing for something noble? Hey, this guy's an attorney - 'nough said! You know all those lawyer jokes you laugh at? They are not jokes! Well, I'll end this rant. Just wanted to get it off my chest. The Dog's outa here.

Hey Crime Dog...did you hear the one about the two guys who like to walk through graveyards reading the epitaphs? On one occasion, they are looking/reading and venture in opposite directions. One yells over to the other to get over there fast, there are TWO people in the grave he is reading the epitaph on! The other fellow gets there and asks what he means about TWO people being in the grave!

The first fellow says read it for yourself; "Here lies John Smith, an honest man and a lawyer."

I do not blame Nifong for wanting to move on. He drawing a nice salary and has excellent insurance. That is why we need a federal investingation. This jerk needs to be in jail.

How can Nifong be drawing a salary since he was removed from office? Give the evidence to support that one TDBB.
