Killers of unborn guilty of worse crime than Vick

What Michael Vick did was reprehensible. What is good is that he has repented, apologized and sought forgiveness. We can all agree on that.

It seems we have more difficulty agreeing about something that is done every day in this country: the senseless and wanton slaughter of human beings still in the wombs of their mothers -- events infinitely more vile and repugnant than the inhumane treatment of animals, as bad as that is. And the perpetrators will serve no time in prison for their murders of God's highest creatures.

Vick has been forgiven by the High Court of Heaven but will likely serve time in an earthly prison -- and rightly so. Do you think the High Court might call abortionists to account? The answer is yes.

Where in the Bible does it state abortion is worse than intentionally mutilating and killing animals? God does not need your righteous indignation and judgment, Marion.

I have always been against the concept of recreational abortion. That's what a majority of the abortions performed are about. A girl finds that she is pregnant after messing around with a guy or even several guys. For fun, pleasure or profit, she's pregnant and wants to get rid of it. I've always felt that was wrong and have always stood against it.
But, now there's a problem. When abortion was illegal, and the same girl went to get one, what? She went to someone, paid several hundred bucks up front. Then she laid down in some old filthy room. The abortionist with a mild dose of education while taking an anatomy class in the 10th grade went to work on her. The "doctor" dosed her up on painkillers, unknown type of pills, booze, whatever would dull the pain. Then using his surgical tools, usually a long handle large spoon and a metal straighten out coat hanger, the "doctor" extracted the fetus from the girl. And, a lot of blood, and body fluids. After loosing a lot of blood, fighting death defying fever, deadly germs, lose of blood pressure, maybe 25% of the girls survive. The good news for the survivors were, they would never need another abortion the rest of their lives. Their baby producing ability was forever destroyed by Doctor Butcher.
I promise that if legal abortion is outlawed, abortions would then go underground. There are more Doctor Butchers out there just chomping at the bit, ready to open the clandestine "hospital". and then take the bucks.
Always remember this....if someone wants it, can and is willing to pay the price for it, there is a lowlife out there that will supply and sell it. This means everything!
Sounds like illegal drugs, doesn't it? The Dog's outa here.

I don't agree with abortion but I don't equate it with dogfighting anymore than other LTEs equating dogfighting with hunting.

Seems everyone is using Vick and dogfighting to chime in about his/her unrelated cause.

Letsee, how can I equate dogfighting with my pet peeve of being forced to pay so much in taxes? After all, the IRS has the mentality of a pit bull ;-(

Crime Dog,
Great points!! Just some more Larry Craigs wanting to tell everyone else how to live while they troll for sex in the public restrooms.

I love the hypocrites who oppose abortion, but then say they want it legal in case of rape and incest. Wow! They want to make it up as they go! You know, play by THEIR rules rather than them play by society's rules. When they start making exceptions, they have crossed the line into hypocrisy and they can't seem to get it.

Then you have the "Pro Life/Anti Birth Control" crowd who rail against abortion, but then don't want to educate children about family planning, safe sex, and birth control! These are the bottom of the barrell kooks in our society--or the officials of the Catholic Church.

If you don't approve of abortion, then don't have one. It really is that simple. And don't follow patrons up the sidewalk yelling inflammatory things to them--would Jesus do that? Not the one I've read about.

Yvonne, I like the statement!

Crime Dog, I, like TLC, think you made excellent points.

TLC, the basic "sex ed" referenced is a key component. Sadly, I do not know when, if ever, it will be dealt with.

While I am not a lover of abortion, neither do I believe that it should not be an option for a woman/couple. I would hope that other options would have been exhausted before choosing abortion.

Marion, remember that Michael Vick did not say he was wrong for his actions, just "immature." That is a big difference. I personally sensed no remorse in his statement or the tone. He knew he was done when his co-defendants took plea deals and in all likelihood would be testifying against him.

I find things such as dog fighting extremely "bottom of the barrel." To use the animals that have been given we humans for companions in such a manner is truly INHUMAN!

And remember, it is not up to you or I to judge the person who has an abortion. That person's relationship with God is just that THEIR'S! The last time that I checked, God's love was UNCONDITIONAL! Therefore, regardless of what we may/may not do, God loves ALL!

We, as fellow humans, may not agree with the actions/deeds of others; As people of Christian faith, we must remember that God does love each of us, UNCONDITIONALLY!

Shalom

I agree with the idea that abortion should not be outlawed. Please remember this important issue at the polls.

CD,

I actually have a problem with abortion being used as a form of birth control. However, I had rather those women who do not want children and would not take care of them if forced to have them, have access to abortion. God knows, we don't need more abandoned, resentful kids roaming our streets.

But bottom line for me is this fact: The people who are involved in the pregnancy directly are the only ones who should be making decisions about that pregnancy. If you, I or anyone else in this world are not one of those two people (the mother or the father), it is really none of our concern.

If I could have had myself spayed for under $100, I wouldn't even feel the need to state my "pro-choice"ness.

But alas.

And... And...

The LTE writer says "Vick has been forgiven by the High Court of Heaven but will likely serve time in an earthly prison -- and rightly so."

Wow, how do you know he's been forgiven? Because he's found God in the last month? And there is lots of evidence that God spelled backwards is still "doG!"
