Personal enterprises need incentives, too
As a private enterprise with 14-plus years invested in the economic development of Greensboro and Guilford County, I feel we now must consider closing operations.
Although we're not the size of Dell, FedEx or Google, it's the many operations like us that feed and stimulate the economy, support the government and strictly abide by the law. So, unless we soon receive some form of tax relief, we will have to close shop, liquidate our real-estate holdings and relocate elsewhere.
Oh, did I mention that we are senior citizens on fixed income who relocated here to enjoy a peaceful retirement for the remainder of our days? So where are the tax incentives for those like us?

Tax incentives for big companies are a form of socialism. There is no way that a pure capitalist could possibly support them.
It would be better to slash taxes across the board for everyone. Or better yet, eliminate the income tax in favor of a sales tax, while continuing to impose corporate taxes but at drastically reduced rates.
Couple this with cut spending.
And then we will have a growing, vibrant economy that everyone can benefit from. Without trying to bolster it by giving some an unfair "advantage".

While not a senior citizen Mr. Noetzel, I feel the same way. However, I do not live within minutes of The Cardinal either! So, there is a vast difference between you and some who feel as you. Remember that and also remember those who have spent a lifetime in this area only to be continually "slapped" by local government.
