Judge makes poor decision to reduce suspect's bond
It is shocking that Judge Joseph Turner would lower the bond of an alleged attempted cop-killer from $1 million to $150,000! Treymayne Jackson allegedly had the means, the motive, the intent and the gumption. The suspect's lethal intent was only foiled by Officer Merritt's bullet-resistant vest.
Judge Turner should be ashamed and embarrassed by his decision, and the citizens of Greensboro should be repulsed and infuriated by Turner's blatant disregard for the lives of our police officers. Judge Turner is an embarrassment to us all.

Judge Joe Turner has a nickname of "Let'm Go, Joe" in local law enforcement circles.
Joe Turner is a likeable person, an and very good lawyer. However, in his "lawyering" days, he was a career defense attorney in the Public Defender's Office. Which means that when he would represent an assigned client, the first thing he usually had to do was seek a bond reduction.
With this in mind, his decisions as a judge are very defense directed. A huge amount of defense attorneys try very hard to get their clients before Judge Joe for that reason.
Now, keep this in mind, Judge Turner is not doing anything wrong or illegal. The judge in their courtroom is the ultimate in decisions. The only recourse is filing an appeal in the North Carolina Court Of Appeals.
As a person, I feel a friendship with Judge Turner and respect him very much on that level. Even though I'm anal retentive when it comes to the total prosecution of criminals, I still think we are lucky to have a justice system like this. The Dog's outa here.

Are their lives more important than the rest? Joe Turner is one of the more fair judges. I'm sure being the judge in this case, he is privy to alot more information than the letter writer.

No, but if this spud will confront and shoot an armed Poilce Officer, what chance would the store clerk whose business he was lurking behind have?
Wonder what he will do for entertainment once he makes bail?

Judge Turner can't rule fairly because if he does what he should, there wouldn't be so much corruption within the courthouse and certain attorneys who use the police department to carry out their financial fraud crimes to obstruct a fraud investigation as well as the SBI coming in to investigate federal corruption. It would clean house if Joe Turner were honest, but what can anyone say. He would rather kill an innocent life in order to have his job. I know from first hand. I must ask the question that if Joe Turner did what he does to other people, how would he feel if what he has done to my children and family in order to keep his job through attorney Hatfield were turned on him and his children. Would he allow a pervert to kill his child while he aids and abets a fraud attorney in order to have a job. I wonder what would have happened if the cop had turned the gun on him and said thanks for trying to have me killed. Better still if it were one of the good ole boy network since Joe Turner conducts the dirty dozen lawyers and the corruption within the court house over the last 22 years. It's just a matter of how low one has to stoop to keep his job as Joe Turner does since he is controlled and bought by Kitty Hatfield. There is no justice. He needs to be stripped of his robe for the injustice he doles out and covers up. Had he done his job, Kitty Hatfield wouldn't be practicing law. He knows how she uses him in all of her cases, but yet he fails to do by law what is required per Rules 8.3 and 8.4 of the state bar ethics code.
