Candidate's honesty does his cause no good

During a recent television presentation, one of the current aspirants for the office of president emphasized that the United States of America is the greatest country in the world. Then the candidate continued to declare that, "A vote for me is a vote for change.”

Still there are those who say that there is no such thing as an honest politician. How dare they!

I agree. "Stay the Course" has always worked well.

I'm looking for that perfect candidate, one that offers a little 'hope' to go along with that 'change', one that chants 'yes we can' in answer to his own hard questions addressed to himself. One that has the backing of prominent religious leaders around the country...never mind they have no church or wayward flock to tend. One that has earned the endorsements of seasoned foreign policy experts like Sean Penn.

Great original retort, Canuck...

No wait...cRock-o-...feller said basically the same thing a couple of days ago...

My heart skipped a beat...then reality set back in...
My bad.

I had not definitely made up my mind where my vote was going until the last two weeks. McCain lost my vote because he did not want enough change. He wants to "Stay the course" or accelerate war to include Iran. Things being equal, platform-wise, between Clinton and Obama except the difference in experience, I trust experience more. One only has to look at where the lack of experience (and qualification) in the current administration has landed us to know experience can make a big difference.

"There is a condition of the mind that is essential for us to live the kind of lives we are longing for. Call it hope, trust or confidence. It is the single greatest difference between those who try and those who give up...Hope is the fuel that the human heart runs on. A car crash or a diving accident can paralyze the body, but the death of hope paralyzes the spirit" (John Ortbert)

This was in our church bulletin this morning. It reminded me of those who criticize those who speak of Hope and Change. I Hope our next President will bring home our soldiers, I Hope our next President will work for better conditions for the people of the USA, I Hope things will change. I believe either Democratic candidate has a better chance of bringing Hope and Change to our weary country.

Carol,
Ever notice that those color coded warnings ENDED when Bush won re-election? Bet we have another color upgrade by Bush in October or November. The mental lightweights live on fear.
