Democratic finalists are actually political pawns

The Clinton-Obama nomination race is now on to the wire with Clinton running second so far. The race may degenerate into attack strategies, as recommended already by some candidate advisers.

Clinton may be already defeated by her failure to campaign as the woman she really is. And some say she has a millstone named Bill around her neck that she could but won't drop.

Obama continues to have problems showing he is more than a "purty face with naught behind it." His somewhat hysterical momentum will not carry him to the convention. He now is stuck with having become another politician, not the original inspiration he came on as.

So it may well come down to what the superdelegates will do at the convention. That probably depends, come August, simply on who they think can best beat McCain, a political judgment.

Disappointing, isn't it, to foresee two pretty worthwhile candidates maybe turning into mere pawns?

But fun to watch.

Does anybody on the planet thing they would have ever heard the words "Senator Hillary Rodham" if it weren't for her marriage?

Instead of constantly telling us how bad the Democrats are and how incapable Clinton and Obama are, I would appreciate some comments on how many wonderful things the Republicans have done since put in office and the wonders of McCain. Convince me that I should vote for him.

Love your comments, Carol. Would appreciate a response from someone as I too am needing to read all the positive things the repubs have accomplished. I obviously have been asleep for the last 7+ years. Please tell me all the good things I missed. And while you are at it, enlighten me as to why it is a good idea to continue the same old same old for another four years under McCain.

Carol and Yvonne,

It's true the Republicans were not effective, and they lost control of Congress as a result, but what has the Democrat Congress accomplished in the 1+ year they have had control of Congress? Zilch. All they have done is talk about investigations. There has been nothing progressive about their reign.

I won't try to convince you or anyone to vote for McCain. Frankly, none of them are worthy of our vote for president.

Come on ORR, you have to be kidding me!!

Didn't you see them grill Roger Clemens, led by Henry Waxman (D-CA), about his possible steroid use?

Just to be fair, some Republicans were involved in this charade too.

We have two wars going on, terrorism, skyrocketing gas prices (which I thought Congress was going to bring down), a declining economy, housing bust, etc. etc. and these brave souls chose to go after a BASEBALL PLAYER?

McCain, Clinton, Obama?

Is this REALLY the best there is? Or have the parties weeded out much better choices?

Is it me, or would we be better off just skipping the primaries and going straight to a national election?

Then we could have a run-off of the top 2 and not let the extremes of each party decide our candidates.
