High charge for parking looks like a case of greed
Greed does not go unnoticed.
On April 18, a much larger fee than normally charged was a disgusting disappointment in those making that decision. We went to hear and see Joel Osteen at the coliseum and had to pay $10 to park. Needless to say, this was a hardship for seniors and others.
I hope all had a good time with the profits. Greed is at every turn.

It's called "supply and demand," Vonda.
Whether it be Osteen, The Stones, or any other high demand appearance, the supplier is likely to charge what the demander will buy. And it has nothing to do with your "senior" status. Parking is charged by the vehicle.
If you are all that senior, you should have learned that by now, Vonda. Stop whining. Next time, just lower the demand by turning around and driving away.

Jack, the disgusting part is that the venue is taxpayer supported and the per-show parking fees are set by appointed, non-elected management. Let the city council members be responsible for setting the parking fees at the coliseum and watch how quickly those fees become reasonable.

Wow! With Joel Osteen preaching prosperity religion, everyone should have been throwing tens at the gate attendant even on the way out!
Wonder what Jesus would think of not only paying to see him preach, let alone paying $10 to park????
As Poor Richard's Almanac said, "A fool and his money, will soon be parted".

I to was surprised by the $10 parking. However I am not a Osteen fan, I enjoyed it ever much. Would gladly pay the fee again. Much better than tax hike Mike stealing my money for things like the Parton theater and the civil rights museum. At least Osteen pays he own way. Wonder way the LIBERAL does not have a smart ass mouth running, about things like this!

Think about what you are suggesting, hugh. "The venue is taxpayer supported ...." Assuming you are one of those taxpayers, and that you did not attend the event(s), then YOU are one (of many) who is paying a "parking fee" and getting NO SHOW AT ALL for your money.
Further, if the city council sets the fees at a "reasonable" level by your standard, how will they offset the lost revenues that they will surely feel is rightfully theirs? Hmmm ... you guessed it, hugh: Higher taxes.
When governments meddle with the free enterprise system, you can bet your "parking fee" that matters will get worse.

Joel Osteen is a hack.

Joel Osteen is "Elmer Gantry" of today.

"Needless to say, this was a hardship for seniors and others."
Because going to a concert is a necessity of life, you know.

I agree with the "hack" comment. I can't believe so many people will so easily fall into a Pied Piperesque trance behind someone who can manipulate peoples' feelings by simply telling audiences everywhere that their problems aren't really their fault. I've got to give him credit for his voice, demeanor, and speaking ability, though. They've allowed him bring in millions of dollars without offering any real substance or answers.
I can hardly believe anyone would consider voting for him for president.
Oh, sorry. I thought we were talking about when Obama came to the coliseum. Who's this Osteen guy?

Gee Willikers, the house parrot is following me around again...surprise, surprise.

Neo,
No fair making me google words. And here I was led to believe that, since neither can occur without the other, you were some dumb guy who lived in a trailer.

It's amazing what one can learn about oneself in here. I've never considered myself to be really smart or really dumb. However, people do seek my services and advice from time to time...it's how I make my living. But after visiting this and other liberal blogs for a brief time, I've learned that not only am I dumb but also racist, blind, narcissistic, racist, stupid, close minded, bigoted, thick headed, dropout, dense, racist, ignorant, homophobic, intolerant, war monger, sexist, selfish, racist, uneducated, Klansman, short sighted, ill informed, retarded escapee from Butner's John Umstead Hospital, racist, and all around bad dude in general who is stuck in 1969.
I shudder to think what I might learn about myself if these liberals weren't so open minded and tolerant of others' opinion.
