Republican candidates hide from party label
Has the word “Republican” been deleted from the English language? It certainly seems so.
Not one candidate running for governor or lieutenant governor had the word “Republican” beside his or her name in their advertising on TV or in print during the recent primary election here in North Carolina.
You don’t reckon the reason for this is that our current president, George Bush, and his vice president, Dick Cheney, have the worst approval ratings since Herbert Hoover left office during the Great Depression? Nah, probably not.

You may be on to something, Buck. Makes you wonder if the local democrats are aware of our democratic controlled Congress' skyrocketing approval ratings.
But then their constituents aren't really interested in approval ratings...just what's in it for them.

Neocon, once again you are correct, congress rating soared up 1 % increase this month. Maybe its because of Hussein plan solve the energy crisis. Tax the oil companies 15 billion and give it to the poor. Now that a good energy plan.

The republican party has compromised itself by moving to the center and beyond and becoming democrat-lite in an attempt to grow it's numbers while alienating it's conservative base.
No self respecting conservative should want to associate themselves with RINO's and spineless tax-and-spend compromisers.

I don't understand why anyone would want to belong to any political party. Our two major parties are both incompetent and corrupt. They care about nothing but themselves. The Republicans had a chance to change that in 1994. They soon discovered the way to saty in power was to dole out taxpayer dollars in unconscionable amounts to assure thier re-election. After 40 years of disastrous rule by the Demo-Rats giving us the House Bank Scandal, Bank Post Office Scandal, many top Demo-Ratd going to prison or being forced to resign, and massive debt.
Then the Republicrats took over, and much to my chagrin, began doing the same despicable things. The system is terribly broken, and may be beyond repair. We have got to get term limits incorporsted into our system. As difficult as it always has been to run against an incumbent, John McCain's blatantly unconstitutional "incumbent protection" legislation, laughingly called campaign finance "reform" has made it almost impossible to get these clowns out of office. Robert Byrd is a senile, senseless, old fool who stands on the senate floor shaking all over an muttering like those guys you see in Times Square, but keeps being re-elected because of the vast power of incumbancy (except for John Edwards of course!)
We need another revolution, and soon, before Nancy Pelosi's "common sense plan to lower gas prices" has gas at $8 a gallon (it was $2.50 when she and her Socialist friends took over!).
