Can Yow’s supporters explain voting for him?

Who the heck is Billy Yow? I know he’s a county commissioner and a r-a-c-i-s-t. But really, who the heck is he?

Did he really say all black people “look alike” and then say it was a “running joke”? Like a refrigerator running down the street? Or what?

Furthermore, who the heck voted for him? Really. If you did, please write a letter to the editor and tell me why.

He's the yang factor.

Billy is not as much of a racist as Skip Alston or Bruce Davis. And as far as the "you all look alike" comment. It was Billy trying to make a little joke. Lighten up for gosh sakes. Bruce Davis said basically the very same thing awhile back, and he didn't get raked over the coals for it. You want to get rid of Billy Yow? Get rid of Skip Aston and Bruce Davis first and Billy will not get elected again. Everyone sees Billy as one who will keep those two egg heads in check. Billy is no racist. But I would like to know who keeps electing the real racist; Alston and Davis.

I don’t think that a voter should have to explain to anyone why he or she votes for a particular candidate. In most cases, a voter is swayed by a candidate’s position on a single issue, i.e., the Iraq War. That being said, I do think that it is fair to ask a voter what his or her preferred candidate achieved or is achieving after taking office? Every time that I pose that question to the supporters of Jesse Helms, I never get any response. I think that for most supporters of Helms, it usually goes back to states’ rights and keeping uppity Negroes in their place.

This of course assumes that no Black folks have ever voted for Helms. Funny, how the ones who rush to scream "racist" never want to look in the mirror.
