Democrats aren’t friends of the working class
The majority of the news media spend a lot of time and space telling us what a great party the Democrats are. As I remember a few yeas ago, the word was that if we could just get a Democratic majority Congress, we would have all our problems solved. We got it and have gone further downhill ever since.
I worked 45 years and paid taxes all of them. I can’t remember that if I wanted a house loan, health insurance for my family, or to send my son to college that I was entitled to all these things at the expense of the government (taxpayers).
Now, according to Barack Obama, the Clintons, Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party, if you made loans you can’t pay back, they will find a bailout for you. It’s President Bush’s fault anyway! I know he is a powerful man who can send hurricanes anywhere he wants, but I still find it hard to fault him for everything.
Obama says he will cut the working man’s taxes by raising the taxes on oil and other big companies. Yes, tax them out of business and the working man and woman won’t have a job to worry about, much less taxes.
If there are many more programs of give, give, give, the country will surely go broke.

All the Dem's fault .. I KNEW it.
" ... if you made loans you can’t pay back, [the Democratic Party] will find a bailout for you".
Are they doing that .. where do I apply?
" ... cut the working man’s taxes ... "
.. yea, we don't want none of that tax cutting stuff - especially for the working man.
" ... raising the taxes on oil ... "
.. yea, we don't want none of that tax raising stuff like Palin did .." Opps, wrong party. mea culpa.
"Yes, tax them out of business ... "
Seems they can do that all .. by.. themselves.

Unfortunately I own not two houses, but two sidewalks and two front porches; the rest of the homes belong to the banks.

Roger, be patient. It takes a while to 'drain the swamp'...especially when your sugar daddies, Fannie & Freddie, are busy refilling it on the other end.

I don't think it matters if we have a Democratic or Republican majority congress, the real problem here is GREED. President Bush is a republican and he is the one promoting the current bailout so don't blame it on the Democrats, the majority of Democrats voted it down the first time through and were pressured by Bush and his buddies to push it through.
As for raising taxes on big companies especially oil is not going to hurt them one bit. Do you really think that a few million is going to hurt them and cause loss of jobs. I don't think so "free trade" already did that. Big business and big oil companies are the most guilty when it comes to greed. I think the answer is that all those in politics and big business, should take an across the board cut in pay, if they are really interested in helping this country. But alas they are only interested in is filling THEIR pockets. When does the little man get to fill his pockets?

The higher ups of both parties crammed the bailout bill down our throats by promising (read:threatening) dire consequences if it didn't pass.
The first failure to pass was not due to Bush, Pelosi, McCain, Obama, Reid or any of big names. It's failure was due to the journeyman members of the house that didn't want to rush to pass a huge bill that everyman didn't want, trust or understand.
If you believe that a majority of Democrats killed it the first time, then I would respectfully disagree and ask you to research the original votes by party lines.
As far as taxes on the oil companies: go ahead, tax them. I'm sure that wouldn't cause them to raise the rates of gas or anything to offset such an increase in their expenses. In fact I'm sure that Exxon's solution to the increased tax rate would be to immediately cut the salaries of their executives by 75%, apologize to the American people, build an orphanage and hug a baby seal.
In fairness, I don't know of a better solution, though. But I do have a strong suspicion that "tax breaks" for the oil companies in reality are veiled subsidies provided by the government to keep the oil prices as "low" as they currently are.
So, is a windfall profits tax where The Man sticks it to The Other Man, thus making us feel warm and toasty inside, worth 25 cents per gallon at the pump? I think everything would equal out, with the same amount of money flowing to the same people either way.
My fear is that this would happen, it isn't my prediction. Any information that would show my concerns to be erroneous would be appreciated.

I've been trying for thirty years to find these media you mention. No sign of it. Plenty of right-wing shills on networks like Faux News, of course, but those media that spend time "telling us what a great party" the Democratic Party is? No sign of them.
Names of these media outlets, please?

Right on justsomedude, why is it only a few people understand price increases(or windfall taxes) are passed down not up,It 's so damn simple yet all these pathetic intellectuals on here just do not get it and insist on playing the class envy game that liberals are so good at promoting .I just love when some brain dead lib can only spew in their defense is "they must just watch FOX news"that is hilarious.but sometimes they miss out on an opportunity to mention Hannity,Limbaugh, and Bortz

Still waiting for someone to point me to these (alleged) media outlets that sing the praises of Democrats. I've looked for them for 30 years without success.
Hope no one misunderstood and thought that I was mentioning Faux News in my "defense" (I have nothing to defend, I'm just looking for the names of some newspapers or television news networks, or whatever types of media these imaginary media are). I just stated one fact about Faux News, which is that its "stars" are right-wing shills. It isn't as if that isn't a well-known bit of information. And it isn't news at all, it's 24x7 editorializing.
