McCain showed mettle on U.S. financial crisis
This is in reference to the article referring to John McCain’s request to postpone the scheduled presidential debate so his efforts could be focused on a solution to the most important crisis facing all Americans, the bailout legislation. The spin put on this request by Barack Obama’s camp was troubling.
Presidents have to deal with many issues at once, but to put a debate in the same category as this economic crisis is wrong. McCain has to be saluted for putting aside his ambition to be president and for having returned to his job of senator and committing to this issue. The action he takes as a senator on this issue will be under scrutiny and may help or hinder his chances for the presidency.

Too bad he campaigned after he said he was suspending his campaign, spending the night in NYC instead of returning to Washington.....
It was obviously a political maneuver completely devoted to his ambition to be President.

I heard both candidates took time off their schedules to take a crap.

Corrected headline should read
McCain showed meddle on U.S. financial crisis
or
McCain showed muddle on U.S. financial crisis

McCain says it was irresponsible to not pass the bill exactly as presented. Obama now says it needs to be revised. Time will tell as to who is correct. Also heard on NPR that all who voted against it are up for re-election...
I will not attempt to add my two cents to the economic discussion...am just going to can some more apples and make pepper jelly...Life is good

The funny part? McCain's campaign still ran ads, he still did an interview with Couric (skipped Letterman, though), and did not proceed immediately back to Washington.
Funnier still: He's not on any of the committees that are involved in penning this bill.
It's all about politics, and I think the American public saw right through McCain's transparent move.

The suspension of his campaign was part of his campaign. It was just a gimmick that interfered with the business of getting a bill passed.
He was just grandstanding and saying look at me I'm helping!!!! Even though he had no natural role to play. At the end of the day all of the real workers were wishing that he would just go away.
