Obama must inspire modern-day miracles
Dear Mr. Obama,
Two millennia ago, a small boy who must have been hungry offered his basket containing bread and a few fish to feed a multitude. I refer to this Bible story, not to emphasize the miracle that Jesus performed with this food. Rather, it is to point out that each of us has a basket filled with something that, when offered, may affect a multitude.
America and the rest of the world is in economic or some other crisis. Our fears and dismay must be vanquished. Our people are creative, determined, industrious and resilient. Mr. Obama, inspire each one of us to offer the contents of our baskets to rescue and change the world. We truly need a modern-day miracle.

Please, Mr. Obama sir, inspire me to give you my fish.

Perhaps Obama will raise his hands, part the sea of debt and lead his people to the promised land.

Gerald, would you settle for a new stimulus check and increased WIC benefits?

I have noticed a dwindling number of letters/comments from the little messiah's supporters as inauguration day approaches.
Wazzupwiddat?...no longer so sure that 'hope and change' will pay the piper? Reconsidering just how effective a modern day 'new deal' will be? Maybe thinking that 'yes we can' turns out to 'I thought we could'? The roll back of McBush's 'tax cuts for the rich' suddenly doesn't seem like such a good idea 'right now'...wondering why not?

Neo, those folks are just prepping for when BO falls flat so they can blame it on lack of support from all Americans.

Hey guys, this was supposed to be a joke. I think! Either that or I missed the last SNL skit.

You seem to get away with the term Neo, but I remember being mugged by other bloggers when using the term messiah in reference to Obama. It is obvious after reading this letter that the Gerald Parker's of the world see him as a messiah.
Looking to govt. for inspiration is a scary thing.

Oh you know, Dan. neo's a lost cause...and my opinions have been missing this past week as I was celebrating New Years at Edinburgh's Hogmanay and having a jaunt around the UK.
Having a full Scottish breakfast 5 days of the last 7 sure has been great...I guess I can't wait to get back to Eggo waffles and oatmeal at school.

I think the LTE writer transposed a word or two. For instance, "inspire" is supposed be "require," as in:
"Require 100 Hours of Service in College"
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/service/
Oh, but it's okay. We'll give you a $4k education credit after you do what we require. It's written right there in black and white. Also note that it's not structured so that if you want the $4k you do the work. You do the work regardless.
Of note, that's forty dollars per hour, which is completely unrealistic pay for unskilled duties.
And our $4k/year or less colleges will be flooded with unprepared students, and a degree will be worth even less than it is now. We can't stomach too high of a failure rate, so we'll begin to adjust the difficulty of the cheap-tuition colleges down even more to adapt to the new students.
Watch and wait. And, when the time comes, remember that you did this to your own children.

And while I don't immediately fault our president-elect for not realizing it (he's a very busy man these days):
Dear Mr. Obama and Dear Mr. Parker,
It's my fish.
I bought the rod and spent the day at the water. Sometimes I even made my own lure because the fish weren't biting anything else. And I'm the one with the sunburn.
Plus you've repeatedly shown you're not to be trusted with the entire fillet you already take just as soon as I land it.
Someday we'll just get to keep the bones and organs and head. "Look at how much you get to keep," they'll say. "Just weigh it. See? We don't even take half..."

Welcome back rahrah, hope you had a good time. Did you sew Canadian flag patches on your luggage and/or backpack for the trip?
Travel all you can while you are young, single, and childless. I'm middle aged, married with two children and while I still travel, it's a bit more expensive.

Dan, as rahrah mentioned, Neo is set in his ways on some things. And his derisive use of the "little messiah" and Obama, won't be ending soon. It's the same thing with his constant use of "affirmative action baby" and Michelle Obama. Neo is from that old school. It would probably have been easier to get Jesse Helms and Trent Lott to change their views on race.

You may want to include Gerald C. Parker of
Greensboro to the fold conundrum. He appears to be an Obama supporter, yet uses the Christ analogy in his letter. I've seen other Obama supporters do this as well, so 'tis they who make the messiah connection.
"We truly need a modern-day miracle."
Neo is parroting the Obama followers who truly see the guy as a messiah. He is a man, capable of mistakes like everyone else.

Neo,
I just heard from the 'Big Messiah' and he said, "shut up already!"

It wasn't I who created the 'messiah' image for B. Hussein Obama. It was folks like Peggy the moocher and the lady calling her creditors telling them 'ya know what, we'll soon be rich because now we now have Barrack Obama'! Honorable mention to the throngs of airheads who showed up at His campaign rallies...they acted like smitten lovesick puppies. I'd wager half of them couldn't name their congressperson or how many senators make up the US senate, much less who sets on the SC.
It now appears with the inauguration fast approaching, reality is starting to seep in. His supporters are no longer the same boisterous loudmouths who were dragging through the mud a true American patriot and hero who spent five years in prison in service to this country. McCain wasn't my candidate either, but he has more character and stones than this false, rock star god who hails from the corrupt pigsty that is the Chicago political machine will ever hope to have. Just my opinion. Does anyone doubt had McCain hailed from this scenario, that the media would not have turned a blind eye to his very questionable associations with the likes of Rezko and the fleabag former terrorist turned 'educator', Ayers? We would have known how many times Ayers and Rezko took a crap in any given week and what brand of tissue was used. We'd have published phone records, e-mails, and any hint of communication between McCain the Chicago mafia/political machine. Had McCain won, they'd be calling for his head because the Gov. was trying to sell his old senate seat and "where's there's smoke there's fire." (where republicans are concerned)
*****************************************************
non-sense, if the Big Messiah told me to shut up, I'd heed his advice. Perhaps He doesn't take too kindly to you for some reason...are you agnostic or atheist?

Mr. Parker asked us to consider what we could offer from the contents of our baskets to 'rescue and change the world.'
Seems as if some of our blogging baskets contain offerings that the world might just say 'thanks, but no thanks' to.
