One-sided squawking
Aren’t crows interesting? They strut and caw with self-righteous and moralistic pride as they defend their bit of road kill.
Now, there aren’t too many similarities between people and crows, but there is one glaring difference. Crows are pretty honest, since they celebrate all road kill as equals. People, however, tend to pick and choose who may live and who may die.
Not surprisingly, no one heard one caw of protest as Hamas fired rockets into Israel, but let Israel fight back and the whole flock turns out. Lots of noise but not one shred of credibility.

In this slew of anti-Hamas letters - and the retorts from the like of Tony Bore-loney and like, there is one thing missing:
It is a rare problem that is 100% one parties fault and zero the other .. and the Israel / Palestine conflict is just one glaring example.
There is certainly "no excuse" for the firing of rockets into Israel .. but the Israel' have their share of blame too, and I wonder how long Mr. Haverkamp would sit by quietly if the circumstances were reversed.
Here's an intersting site for thouse that want to delve:

Short explanation Obbe: Hamas hates Bush too!

People were of course always condemning Hamas for firing rockets into Israeli. Here is the issue though. Since 2005, Hamas has killed 19 Israeli civilians. Since this latest increase in attacks on Gaza by Israeli, Israeli has killed several hundred Palestinian civilians. And that number will easily rise into the tens of thousands because of damage done to the basic infrastructure in Gaza (ie, hospital damage, supplies destroyed, water and power plants destroyed).
The problem here is when Hamas strikes, almost no one dies. When Israeli strikes, hundreds, if not thousands die, the overwhelming vast majority of whom, had nothing to do with the attacks in the first place. It would be as if the US Air Force randomly attacked Greensboro for the 25 murders that happened last year. Lots would die, and almost nobody would be brought to justice.

Can't buy that analogy. Hamas launches rockets from neighborhoods in Gaza. That is where they have their launchers. So if you need to destroy their launchers, you have to hit their neighborhoods. If Hamas gave a rats *** about the Palastinian people, they wouldn't make neighborhoods their military instillations.

Hamas is the cause celebre of the left- those who control the MSM which is in the final stages of BD (Believability Dysfunction), hence the one sided barrage (pardon the pun) against Israel.
Israel understands the nature of warfare.

p.s. Robert,
If the 25 homicides were all Air Force personnel, you might have a point.

Robert - I do not agree .. the amount of casualties on each side is not valid .. after all, if that were the case no war would ever be won .. "Wait, you need to kill a few more of us to keep it even".
What matters are the issues .. and this one is very complex and involves every reason Man has ever waged war against man: Politics, Power, Territory, Religion, Culture, etc. Each of these will need to be addressed before there is anything close to reconciliation - and that may be impossible.

Ellis .. You might want to do some research on the religion of many Media CEO's ...

"What matters are the issues .."
What matters is victory. We didn't discuss issues with Germany or Japan, we sought and achieved total victory which led to surrender on their part. Innocent people died as a part of these efforts.
Israel is held back by the 'world community', but if they had their way they would bomb bomb away until surrender was achieved. The Palestinians would do the exact same thing if they had the armaments to do so.
What we have instead is a tit for tit status quo conflict that will never end if played out the way it has over decades. The 'world community' cannot solve this problem, someone has to win.
