Billy Yow, helpers come to aid of couple in need

On Friday, Jan. 16, my water pipes froze. I was getting ready to go to see my cancer doctor, and I couldn’t take a shower.

As my wife and I were putting a light bulb under the pump cover, a truck pulled into the driveway and its driver asked if we needed help. My wife said yes, we could use all the help we could get.

Three people got out of the truck. I was surprised and blessed because it was County Commissioner Billy Yow and his two helpers. They thawed the pipe and got the water going again.

Yow and his helpers were just riding by and stopped to help. My wife told him they were angels in disguise. I would like to thank him again and again for this deed of generosity.

Yow would not take any money and said that this was his good deed for the day. I have heart problems and am on oxygen 24 hours a day. I am limited to what I can do. God was looking out for us that day

Wait...I thought this was the guy who wanted old ladies and cancer patients to freeze to death.

Could there be two Billy Yows...or are we just being inundated with liberal bilge about the guy?...hmm...

I've tried for years to find stranded couples with lightbulb problems, I mean... what are the odds?

Yow-za! let the haters hate . . . but the man up above knows who's right . . . get 'em Bill . . .

I have no trouble believing this about Billy Yow. He might be a bit abrasive at times at the Commissioners meetings, but the kindness and down home guy next door shows thru. And consider this: the people in his district think highly of him. BB

I agree, Brenda. Don't know him personally, but I have heard nothing but good things about the man.

Neocon, you make a good argument to ban anonymous comments.
The Billy Yow I know not only thrives to help his constituents but all people of the county on a daily basis. The real Billy Yow doesn't make the daily headlines for the good he does because it doesn't sell papers.
I called Yow to ask him what you meant by your comments. He was as bewildered as I was and had no idea what you were talking about.
We'd both like to know. What the heck does your comment mean?
And just a thought, consider signing your real name. It might work wonders for your self esteem.

I think (and I am pretty sure), Mr. Wilkins, that neo is speaking against the 'liberal media,' not against Billy Yow.

What I think he's saying is that the portrait the 'liberal media' paints of Mr. Yow is that of a mean and heartless man but that he isn't.

Sarcasm, look it up. ;)

I am just happy for Glenn that it was Billy and not Skip that was riding by.

Now I know how Rush feels.

tonywilkins...chill dude. Without Yow to counter Skippy & Co., I'd move out of the county.

As for not using my real name. I don't like getting phone calls @ 5:am by liberals wanting to "just hear what a real son-of-a bitch sounds like this early".

rahrah, I've sold you short. Apologies.

tonywilkins [TypeKey Profile Page] said:

Cool neocon...based on mine and Billy's inability to detect that sarcasm I can only say..."duh". He said he had gotten calls today about the post and others had not detected the intended meaning. I, though, should have.

chucka [TypeKey Profile Page] said:

yeah..that's the tony i know...always shooting first and asking questions later..if billy yow wasn't my representative, i'd fit myself with a wooden bill and peck guano with the chickens...

No problem. I have skin envied by rhinos. But I DON'T like getting phone calls @ 5:00am from liberals who take umbrage with my views on the welfare state.

One actually called me pretending to be a 'reporter following up on a lte a Mr. John Doe had written', and would I be THE Mr. Doe who had written this lte concerning the folly of the welfare state and could I 'answer a few questions for her?' When she found out I was indeed the culprit, she unleashed a string of profanities at me that would curl your toenails. LOL

I trust you have informed Mr. Yow that no disrespect was intended and I'm in his corner?

I checked out your blog Tony, tempest in a teapot but to your credit you realized you didn't understand Neo's post and retracted your 'story'.
