Doing exact opposite works half of the time

Anyone else out there feel like you’re making subpar decisions more often than not?

Choosing the wrong highway lane or the slow line at the grocery store? I do.

From stock picks to office pool picks, no matter how good they look at the time, they always seem to turn around and bite me.

George Costanza, for you Seinfeld buffs, had it figured out. Always do the exact opposite from what your instincts tell you. I tried it. It works about 50 percent of the time.

In his first 100 days, President Obama seems to have perfected the system. With his record high approval ratings on the heels of his predecessor’s record lows, it appears that Obama is simply doing the exact opposite of what Bush/Cheney would have done. So naturally, I decided to apply this approach to my life.

Unfortunately, it’s not working as well for me. Now when pondering whether to switch lanes or lines, all I can come up with is to close Guantanamo Bay. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Well, if you only have two choices.........the law of averages says that you have a 50% chance of getting it right. So where's the confusion?

Actually, to quote last night's daily show: "I don't think probability works that way."

It actually has a formula that deals with adding, multiplying and dividing, As and Bs depending on whether the events are independent or subordinate. Thats all I remember from statistics. :(

Y'er doing it wrong.

Not exactly, he's got the anti-war crowd upset for not pulling troops out of Iraq fast enough and....gulp....increasing troops to Afghanistan.

At the "enchanting" press conference Wed. night he said pushing the Freedom of Choice Act was not a priority. During the campaign he said it would be one of the first things he'd do as president. That's gotta tee off the pro-abo.......ooops.....pro-choice crowd.

One opposite he is doing; Bush tended to keep Cheney in an "undisclosed location", except for an occasional hunting trip to take out his frustration on fellow hunters. Obama however actually lets Biden speak in public, which we learned yet again yesterday isn't a bright idea. This buffoon is scaring people from flying on planes or taking subways.

BTW, not necessarily Obama's deal but this swine flu thing has gotten out of control. Not the sickness itself, but the hysterical coverage. One person has died in TX, a young child who had arrived from Mexico, and the media report on the story 24/7.

I believe some 35,000 people here die from regular flu each year, 40,000 die in car accidents, hell 2,500 die in house fires.

The old Bush/Cheney duo managed to go nearly 8 years without a major terrorist attack in this country after September 11th.

I'm guessing Obama will do the exact opposite.
