Real issue of new jobs sidetracked by politics
Does anybody else think the American people are being deceived by a lot of political smoke and mirrors which is clearly meant to divert our attention from the fact that they are doing little to nothing to create the promised 4 million jobs and rescue our economy?
All of these are rabbit trails about things that could be considered after the patient (us) has stopped bleeding profusely.
Is this the change we asked for? What about hope? Could we have possibly hoped they would do anything other than continue their Super Bowl of politics, rather than actually trying to take our country in the direction we need to go for a stable future?

Throwing newly printed money at manufactured crises does nothing to create jobs, Jean. But it's a great way to keep the approval numbers up and hide the fact that the teleprompter-in-chief is clueless when it comes to governing.
The sheep that elected Him are not likely to admit anytime soon that they lack the ability to smell $#!+ before stepping in it. They'll let their shepherd spend the country into oblivion before they admit it.

The legislation to create the new jobs has just been passed. Now the states have to figure out how to spend the money to create the stimulus.
FDR's New Deal didn't fix the Great Depression in the first year. It took time. So will this crisis.

You can't trust a black man . . . look at all the blacks trying to sue the city for imaginary discrimination . . .
. . . I guess if the Obamanation doesn't get his way . . .
. . . he can just sue . . .

"You can't trust a black man[...]"
Yet when someone points out that attitudes like this still exist, s/he is accused of "playing the race card."
It's hilarious.
Anyway, if you can get through the shrillness of the author's letter to the substance, there *is* a point there.
Until you get money out of politics, NOTHING will change.
During this past holiday weekend, which was a "family weekend," my niece, who spent a semester last year studying in New Zealand, mentioned the election for PM that was held and how impressed she was with how it was conducted. The campaign began six weeks before the election, the election was held, the votes counted, the results announced and two days later the new PM took office.
Makes sense to me, sounds a lot better than the way we do things.

"Now the states have to figure out how to spend the money to create the stimulus."
Panacea,
I think that may be the scariest part of all.
Our state leaders are worried about outlawing plastic bags, smoking in bars, folks buying glass vials in stores, and people texting while driving.
Maybe these are worthy causes. But the one thing we aren't hearing out of Raleigh is how they plan to address a $5 billion budget shortfall.
IMO, FDR's new deal didn't fix the great depression at all. Not that we don't owe a lot of cool things to the New Deal, though.
It was the building up for WWII and near 100% employment that fixed it. Legalizing alcohol probably helped.
I guess we could infer that we need to attack Iran and Korea and legalize marijuana to get out of this jam.

Give Obama a break. It takes time to create new government jobs for displaced private sector workers. Everything will be OK by 2016.

Neocon, if you only had a brain.

Truman, if you only had a comment that had anything to do with the letter.

Another dissappointed voter, because the supreme leader hasn't provided all the gifts promised before last November.

Truth, I glad someone understand the mess in Raleigh.
You do not get a lot of coverage on this.
The is state is in a helluva mess.
The state has been run into the ground for at least the last 20 years.
Tax and waste.
of course you can do this when you get a free pass in the media.
