Fake fur vs. real fur
So you recently read about robocat and are wondering if it's for you.
But think about what you'll miss if you choose a fake pet over a real one.
Will a robocat, for instance, use your brand new coach as a scratching post just to give it that nice, worn-in, look?
I also doubt you're going to get as good a deal on a robocat compared with the real thing, at least in the Triad.
Adopting a cat or dog at animal shelters in Guilford, Rockingham, Alamance, Davidson and Forsyth counties ranged from $75 to $120 and included shots and other services (call or check out the Web site to get more details).
In Randolph County, it's only $15 to adopt a cat or dog, but that doesn't include shots. They're also not spayed or neutered.
I can see the bumper stickers now: "My cat can beat up your robocat."
