Gas takes a slice out of pizza deals
A month ago I blogged about Triad deals on Pizza. Joe Killian replied a Papa John's in Greensboro was tacking on a $1 delivery fee but wasn't sure why.
Well, it turns out it the delivery charge is now becoming the norm rather than the exception, thanks to rising gas prices.
Dammit Jim!
Major chains including Domino's and Papa John's have added a $1 fuel surcharge in most major markets including the Triad.
I randomly called a Papa John's off Battleground Avenue in Greensboro today and, yep, you get to pay a $1 delivery fee.
Same thing with a Domino's I called in Reidsville off Turner Drive.
So one day you'll get misty-eyed as you tell your grandkids they use to deliver pizza for free.
