Massive flea market comes to town
Organizers call it the largest charitable flea market in the Southeast.
But for good reason.
The The Alamance-Caswell Hospice League's annual flea market in Burlington has more than 100,000 square feet of stuff spread out in five buildings.
All kinds of merchandise and collectibles: $28,000 worth of donated Teddy bears, huge coin collection, lawn mowers, bicycles, yard equipment, clothes, cameras, drapes, dining room tables, recliners.
Last year, it took 19 tractor-trailers to unload the stuff and 500 volunteers to help out.
But be prepared for crowds. People from all over including New York begin arriving in RVs and campers this afternoon so they can get a good spot in the line that forms before the gates open Friday at 8 a.m.
Here are the hours: Friday, Saturday and Monday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
