$2.64 a gallon?

That's what GreensboroGasPrices.com, a GasBuddy Web site, is now reporting this morning concerning the lowest price of gas in the Triad area. It was $2.74 a gallon on Monday.

What's going on?

I heard WSJS mention gas prices were falling on the radio this morning. They interviewed someone at AAA.

I'll let you know when we're doing a follow to the last story we wrote about gas, which said prices averaged just below $3 a gallon statewide Aug. 8.

Update: We have a story about gas prices scheduled to run in Friday's paper.
