For almost $40 less you could get a refurbished 20 Gig iRiver H10.
Besides having five times as much space it will also play a variety of formats none of the iPods will, holds text and pictures you can see on its full color screen, has an FM radio tuner, recording function (straight to MP3) and comes with the sort of full-body protective sleeve you have to buy seperately for any of the iPods.
I recently got one, am a convert and am wondering how I ever got by with my old iPod.

Very cool. You showed it to me briefly the other day. Let me borrow it so I can determine whether it merits a Bargain Blog seal of approval. That should take, ah, just a few weeks. OK. Three days tops. Five minutes? Anyway, it's received an average 3.5 out of 5 stars based on 43 reviews as of this morning at amazon.com. Based on my experience, if you think a product's junk you're not going to pull any punches and aren't bashful about sharing your feelings with others, so I think the customer reviews at Web sites such as amazon.com and circuitcity.com are generally reliable and should be taken into account when considering plunking down your hard-earned money on something. Of course, doesn't hurt to always have a little grain of salt in your pocket 'cause some of these people are jerking your chain.
