Xbox 360 price cut
More good news for gamers: The Xbox 360's price is dropping from $400 to $350 starting Wednesday.
The Xbox 360 without the hard drive will sell for $280 (regular $300). That's low: The PlayStation 2 sold for $300 when it launched in 2000, same price as the original Xbox when it launched in 2001.
Today's news also follows Sony's announcement it's dropping the price of its 60-gigabyte PlayStation 3 by $100 to $500.
The video game kings of the block are feeling the pressure from Nintendo, which has been hugely successful with its Wii gaming system. And its $250 price tag still can't be beat.
