Energy drinks on the cheap
I remember going to Big Lots and watching dumbstruck as this guy and a teen - guessing his son who's probably an athlete - load about five freakin' cases worth of energy drinks onto the counter by the register.
What's going on here? Mystery solved when you look at the price - 50 cents a pop. Pretty good deal when you consider some of these energy drinks go for $2 to $3 a pop.

I bought a bunch and have been sampling them. The tastes vary - some are so-so (and that's being generous) while some make you wince.
Hey, for 50 cents, what do you expect? Besides, you're trying to get an energy boost to exercise or, more importantly, play video games until 4 a.m., not sample a fine wine.
Most carry the same ingredients (packed with B vitamins including 5, 6 and 12, Taurine and caffeine.).
Brands include Velocity, Dead Read Xcelerator, Stinger, Joker and Bookoo.
