Is being a stay-at-home mom a choice these days?
An Associated Press article in today's business section of the News & Record mentions how families have altered their lifestyles due to the economy.
But the more interesting topic raised in the article is whether women feel they're being forced to stay at home to care for their kids due to the economy. That notion struck a nerve with Jen Singer, creator of MommaSaid.net, a resource for stay-at-home mothers like herself.
"I know tons and tons of mothers who choose to stay home whatever the economic difficulties," she tells the AP, counting herself among them. "We are NOT staying home with our children by default."
So to any stay-at-home moms out there, do you agree with Singer? Are you at home by choice or is it the economy, stupid?

I am a proud stay at home Mom! I didn't have children so someone else could take care of them all day. That's MY job! Fortunately at this point so far...we can afford for me to stay home. I feel blessed.
