There goes one of my favorite beer stops
Update: Then again, maybe not. We'll see.
Co-worker Carl Wilson had passed along news The Press Wine Cafe in Greensboro is closing.
But a new owner may step in.
Don't let the name fool you because that place had one of the best beer selections in town. And on Fridays, everything was half-off.

The Press has been purchased by new owners, reopened since last Friday. I spoke to one of the new owners last night, and he said some changes are going to be made, including a possible paring down of the wine list and a possible name change, but he said at this point they're planning on keeping the general flavor of the place with its amazing beer selection, knowledgable staff members, and the half-price beer Fridays.
I always thought that The Press was great, but that a lot of things about it needed some improvement. This might seem silly, but the worst thing about the old Press to me was this awful strong bleachy smell that ALWAYS permeated the place. I was supposed to be taking in the aromas of amazing wines and beers, but all I could smell was bleach! The new owners say they are going to be using a professional cleaning crew who know what they're doing.
The new owners seem to have some good ideas, experience in running businesses, and are hard workers, so I think it'll succeed.
