News About Us
Well, not really about us, but a former "us" and our current Savvy Shopper columnist, Amy Joyner.
Amy left the security of full-time employment late last year to write book projects and work on some other stuff. She sent the "us" still slaving at our desks the following news on Wednesday:
"Hello friends:
I wanted to share some news. And I figured that an email message would be more effective than screaming from my office window.
Michelle Singletary, the Washington Post columnist who writes the syndicated personal finance column, "The Color of Money" has chosen my book, "The eBay Millionaire" as her August Book of the Month.
She'll be writing a column about the book, and I'll also be doing an online chat with Singletary and readers of her column on Aug. 25 at noon. (The chat will be online at Washingtonpost.com.) Michelle's column about the book will appear in this Sunday's Washington Post, and it will also be syndicated in newspapers around the country.
You might not be able to tell it from this email, but I'm giddy!"
This is a huge honor. Michelle Singletary is a superb nationally syndicated business columnist. We think enough of her to run her column every Sunday, albeit below Amy's.
This is wonderful news for Amy and for those of you who read her Savvy Shopper column. Amy delivers insights every week for you in Sunday's Work & Money and has hit it big with this book.
