Future Foam Expands
Three months after an explosion that killed one employee, a South High Point company plans to expand.
Future Foam North Carolina, a local operation of Future Foam Inc, an Iowa-based company plans to add 24,000 square-feet to its facility on Prospect Street.
The company, which manufactures foam used in furniture cushions, and mattresses, will make a $3.8 million investment and will add 12 jobs to its existing staff of 105.
Earlier this month, the High Point City Council offered the company a $90,440 incentives package to expand. The expansion is expected to be complete by April 2007, according to company officials.
On May 23, an explosion at the south High Point plant killed one employee, Ricky Dale Hardin, and injured two others. Repairs from the accident were made by June 26, according to company officials. The expansion will be located in another section of the plant.
