Hotel Taskforce
It's a complaint too often heard by the Triad from those who attend the International Home Furnishings Market.
Hotel prices are too high and there aren't enough hotel rooms.
But marketgoers, have no fear, a newly created hotel taskforce is here.
The taskforce was created by the High Point International Home Furnishings Market Authority, a local group that oversees market services like accommodations, transportation and parking.
Chairing the taskforce will be Pamela Vargas, director of sales for the Marriott Downtown Greensboro.
Other members of the taskforce will include: Chris Adams with the Ashford Suites; Mo Milani with Sheraton Hotel; Joe Varipapa with Comfort Suites Airport; John Rothkopf at Airport Marriott; Tim Peters with Embassy Suites; Joe Tarasaria with Holiday Inn Express; Paulette Seaton, Hilton Garden Inn; Ron Stephens with Twin City Quarter; Henri Fourrier with the Greensboro Convention & Visitors Bureau; and Charlotte Young with the High Point Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The taskforce held its first meeting last week and plans to meet once a month.
