SARAJANE finally set to open
A Summerfield accessory shop should open this week - after nearly three months of delay.
The shop, SARAJANE, has been in the works for months over at Hillsdale Village, a new retail complex at the edge of Summerfield, where N.C. 150 meets Lake Brandt Road. Owner Sarah Jane Miller planned to open her store May 13, but development snafus held up the process, putting both Sarah Janes on hold.
Back in May, developer John Stratton, the brains behind the center, said he expected businesses there to open between June 1 and June 15. Shops and eateries including Moby's Coffee just started to open their doors. The 18,000-square-foot center has about a dozen retail spaces, and Stratton might build an additional 12,000 square feet of shops, eateries and offices.
SARAJANE, slated for a soft opening Tuesday, fills a 1,200-square-foot space there. Miller, a single mother in her early 50s, is stocking her store with accessories that can make an outfit - pieces like headbands, belts and handbags from unique lines. She plans to cater to a fairly high-end demographic, drawing customers from Summerfield, but she also plans to offer a variety of price points.
Her grand opening is scheduled for Aug. 19.
