AHFA elects 2007 officers
Paul Toms, chairman and chief operating officer of Hooker Furniture, in Martinsville, Va., was elected president of the American Home Furnishings Alliance during the organization’s annual meeting Nov. 16-19, in Sonoma, Calif.
The alliance is the largest association of home furnishings companies in the world and represents more than 250 leading furniture manufacturers and distributors, as well as 225 suppliers to the furniture industry worldwide. It is located in High Point and Washington, D.C.
Kurt Darrow, president of La-Z-Boy Inc., in Monroe, Mich., has moved to the alliance's first vice chairman position. Bruce Bradburn, CEO of the Bradburn Gallery, in Atlanta, Ga., was elected second vice chairman.
Robert Maricich, president and chief executive officer of Century Furniture Industries, in Hickory, N.C., becomes the immediate past-chairman of the AHFA Board of Directors. The officers will assume their new posts on January 1.
Members newly elected to serve a three-year term on the AHFA Board of Directors include: Rodney England, England Inc., in New Tazewell, Tenn.; Dudley Flanders, Lloyd Flanders Industries, in Menominee, Mich.; Joe Johnston, Johnston Casuals Furniture, in North Wilkesboro, N.C.; Bill Lee, Superior Furniture, in Lowell, Mich.; Dennis Park, Leggett & Platt Consumer Products, in Carthage, Mo.; Jay Reardon, Hickory Chair Company, in Hickory, N.C.; and Sonny Roseman, C.R. Laine Furniture, in Hickory, N.C.
