High Point printing company expands thru acquisition

Graphic Printing Services Inc. of High Point has acquired the Dorsett Printing Corp. of Thomasville. Dorsett Printing specializes in the design and production of flexographic labels and tags for leading manufacturers and retail stores chains in the U.S.

Graphic Printing plans to consolidate Dorsett's flexographic label and tag business with its own flexographic printing department, moving Dorsett's employees to its High Point facility by 2007. Graphic Printing is located at 4301 Waterleaf Court in the Piedmont Centre.

Burr W. Sullivan, Dorsett's president, will manage the Thomasville facility until the change over and then act as a full-time consultant.

Graphic Printing also plans to invest a half million dollars in new flexo printing equipment to further expand its capabilities.

Graphic Printing specializes in two different types of printing: full-color offset and flexo packaging printing on items such as labels, sock bands, riders, hangtags, folding carters and hangers; and full-color commercial sheet-fed offset printing on items including brochures, booklets, posters, single sheets, presentation folders and kits.
